The Yazd Water Museum is a five-story house in which you can see different tools for digging qanat, instruments and tools for measuring the volume of water, lighting equipment in the qanat, documentation for the purchase and sale of water and old deed of endowments, booklets of water distributers and water distribution documentation, storing and carrying containers and many other valuable items.
It is interesting to know that there is a well house on the roof of this house from which water obtained using a waterwheel and filled the cistern on the ground floor.

As mentioned above, the Yazd Water Museum is located in one of the old houses of Yazd by entering it, visitors can discover the history of several thousand years of water in this historic city the water museum is located in a historic house called the Kolahdozha and many tourists traveling to this city attracted to this museum.
The Kolahdozha house was built on a 720 square meters area by Haj seyed Ali Akbar Kolahdoz, one of the merchants in the Qajar era, in 1887, in the north of Amir Chakhmagh Square.
The museum began its work in 2000 at the first Kariz International Conference, which it’s aims to show the value and importance of water in a desert region and shows people how water is important. What differentiate the Yazd Water Museum from other water museums is the passage of a hundred years old Kariz current, which was supply resource of water.
Currently, the owner of this building is the water company of Yazd and is considered as one of the attractions of this city visited by tourists.
